. Plaster cast bricks, linen curtains, aluminium, steel.
This piece is ever changing and composed of an assemblage of steel frames akin to domestic furniture, mirrors, aluminium, and the smooth plaster bricks that have become one of Wooller’s artistic hallmarks. IMW makes the bricks as units of time, repossessed, attempting to create small nods to monoliths, foundations that build our lives. The process of making each unique brick leads to the next being subtly different, (thanks to variables in plaster combinations, external air temperature, water ratio, damage to the exterior mould etc), bringing to mind not only the inevitable cellular deterioration and entropy that comes with the moving of time and ultimately, age, but also marked by the invisible energy that powered them.
